Herbal face pack have emerged as popular skin care remedies due to their natural origin, minimal side effects and therapeutic properties. This review focuses on a composite herbal face pack formulated using Multani mitti acts as a deep cleanser and oil absorber, promoting smoother skin. Neem powder provides potent antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects, making it ideal for acne-prone skin. Turmeric rich in curcumin, offers antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, contributing to skin brightening and healing. Orange peel powder is a natural exfoliant loaded with vitamin C, promoting collagen synthesis and skin rejuvenation. Pomegranate peel powder has antioxidant and anti-aging effects, aiding in skin repair and protection from oxidative stress. Sandalwood powder is valued for its soothing, anti-inflammatory, and cooling properties. This review consolidates scientific and traditional evidence supporting the dermatological efficacy of each component, their synergistic action in face masks, and the formulations potential as a natural, effective alternative to synthetic cosmetic products. The review also highlights gaps in clinical research and proposes future directions for evaluating the formulations safety and efficacy through dermatological studies. The findings support the development of this herbal pack as a safe, effective and eco-friendly alternative to synthetic face care product.
Herbs used in the cosmetics mainly for cleaning, beautifying and make someone appear more attractive or change their look and masks pave the way for silky, luminous, and flawless skin[1]. In Ayurveda, the herbal paste used to cure acne, pimples, scars, markings and pigmentation is known as “Mukha Lepa”. The application of this herbal mixture to the face is known as “Mukha Lepana”. As a facial, this beauty therapy is well liked[2]. The face pack is a fine powder that is applied to the face. A good herbal face pack should provide the epidermis with the nutrients it needs and should also reach the subcutaneous tissues. Face pack is fine powder or paste with smooth texture, supposed to be applied on facial skin as a thin layer and allowed to dry for few minutes, leaving behind a film which can be easily washed off with water. Routine application of face pack exfoliates skin, removes dry and dead skin, provides soothing, cooling, moisturizing and nourishing effects and provides skin tightening, strengthening effects, based on type of formulation, also helps to remove dirt and grease from skin without actually altering the normal physiological functioning of skin. All of these effects help to rejuvenate skin which is an ultimate goal for use of cosmetic preparations. Based on requirement, use and type of different skin types herbal face packs are used. Herbal face pack containing natural active ingredients helps to reduce acne, redness, pimples, wrinkles, and dark circles. Such preparations may also help to increase fairness while promoting skin nourishing and soothing effects [3]. Nowadays different types of packs are available separately for the oily. normal and dry skin. face packs are used to increase the fairness and smoothness of the skin. it reduces wrinkles, pimples, acne and dark circles of the skin. face packs which are recommended for oily skin prone to acne, blackheads, usually control the rate of sebum discharge from sebaceous glands and fight the harmful bacteria present inside acne lesion. The leftover marks of skin can be reduced by incorporation of fine powders of Sandalwood, Rose-petals and dried Orange peels[4].

MATERIALS AND METHODOLOGY
Multani Mitti are easily available and helps in diminishing pore sizes, removing blackheads and whiteheads fading freckles, soothing sunburns, cleansing skin, improving blood circulation, complexion, reducing acne and blemishes and gives a glowing effect on skin as they contain healthy nutrients. Multani mitti is a best natural source of magnesium chloride[7].
Sandal wood has an anti-tanning and anti-aging property. Sandalwood protects the skin against the impact of environmental pollution and keep the skin cool, fair and healthy. Sandalwood is helpful Ayurvedic herb with antimicrobial properties is used for healing various skin problems and removes scars. Sandalwood is a class of woods from trees in the genus Santalum. The woods are heavy, yellow and fine-grained and unlike many other aromatic woods, retain their fragrance for decades. Sandalwood oil is extracted from the woods for use[8].
Orange is an orange fruit that contains a variety of nutrients such as vitamin C, calcium, potassium and magnesium. Prevents skin from free radical damage skin flow and oxidative stress. It also has a fast-moving lightening, protecting against acne, blemishes, wrinkles and aging[9].
Turmeric scientifically identified as Curcuma longa and classified under the Zingiberaceae family within the genus Curcuma plays a vital role in skincare preparations due to its diverse and beneficial properties. Recognized for its blood-purifying attributes and antibacterial effects, turmeric actively supports wound healing and addresses skin conditions stemming from blood impurities [10]. Its versatility extends to anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties, making it a valuable asset in skincare routines dedicated to soothing and calming the skin. An anti-acne effect is due to antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities of different chemical constituents. One of the most common benefits of neem for skin is that it treats acne. The physicochemical parameters include their pH value, moisture content, loss on drying.

The herbal face pack formulated with Pomegranate peel powder, Orange peel powder, Neem powder, Turmeric, Multani Mitti, Sandalwood powder, and Rose water presents a potent combination of natural ingredients known for their skin-enhancing properties. Each component contributes uniquely antioxidant-rich property. Pomegranate and Orange peel powders aid in skin rejuvenation and brightening, neem and turmeric offer antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits essential for acne-prone skin, multani mitti and sandalwood help in oil absorption and soothing irritated skin while rose water provides hydration and a cooling effect. This synergistic blend not only promotes clearer, healthier, and more radiant skin but also avoids the adverse effects associated with synthetic skincare products. Given its holistic profile, this face pack is a promising, cost-effective, eco-friendly and provide dermatological care and `beauty regimens. Further clinical studies could help standardize formulations and validate long-term benefits for different skin types.
