Abstract

Development and evaluation of herbal makeup remover wipes focusing on natural plant-based ingredients to enhance skin health while effectively removing makeup. The study evaluates the efficacy, safety, and environmental benefits of using herbal ingredients such as Honey, Coconut oil, Rose water, Jasmin oil, turmeric, Aloe vera in makeup remover wipes. The research aims to provide a viable, gentle alternative to traditional chemical-laden makeup removers.

Introduction

Background                                                        

Makeup remover wipes are a widely used personal care product; however, many conventional wipes contain synthetic chemicals, preservatives, and fragrances, which can irritate sensitive skin and harm the environment. As consumers become more conscious of these concerns, there is growing demand for natural, plant-based alternatives. This research investigates the formulation of herbal makeup remover wipes using ingredients like Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil, known for their soothing, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties (Borek, 2007). Research Objectives is to formulate herbal makeup remover wipes that effectively remove makeup while being gentle on the skin. To evaluate the safety and skin compatibility of the wipes. To assess the environmental impact and sustainability of using plant-based ingredients. This study focuses on the formulation, testing, and evaluation of herbal makeup remover wipes. The project includes ingredient selection, the development of effective formulations, and laboratory testing for efficacy, stability, and safety.

MATERIALS AND METHODS

Materials used for Herbal Makeup Remover Wipes as follows

  • Aloe Vera:
  • Honey
  • Rose water
  • Turmeric Jasmine oil
  • Coconut Oil

Procedure for Preparation of Herbal Makeup Remover Wipes

  1. Start by washing your hands.
  2. Mix 10ml of coconut oil, 5ml of honey, and 20 ml of rose water in a small bowl.
  3. Add a 2 tablespoon of turmeric powder and aloe vera gel 4-5 drops to the mixture and stir Well.
  4. Add 2-3 drops of jasmine oil to the mixture and stir gently and boil up to 5-10 min after boiling keep it side for cool after cooling filter the liq. by using filter paper.
  5. After filter /cool liq. Add distilled water to make up the volume. Take bunch of 10-20 wipesand deep in prepared makeup removal liq. When that wipes soak liq. then store it in tight lid Container then we uses it on our face to remove the makeup at anywhere or any time, focusing on areas with makeup.
  6. Gently massage the wipes into your skin using circular motions.
  7. Rinse your face with lukewarm water to remove any remaining mixture.
  8. Pat dries your face with a clean towel.
  9. Apply a thin layer of moisturizer to soothe and moisturize your skin.

Evolution:

  1. Organoleptic Characteristics: After the complete formulation of the herbal makeup removal wipes it was seen to be yellowish color, pleasant odourand itis in the liquid form.
  2. PH Determination: The prepared formulation 25 ml was taken in the beaker and now calibrate the PH meter was made in the formulation for some time and reading was recorded.
  3. Temperature Variation: The temperature was exposed to different temperature and room temperature.
  4. Skin Irritation Test: Small amount of the makeup removal liq.was spread on hand dorsal skin and kept for some time result was found non – irritant in the skin.
  5. Skin Conditioning: The appearance of the skin after application of the makeup removal liq. was seen to be smooth, hydrated and glowing.
  6. Stickiness: The small amount of the makeup removal liq.was applied on skin and liq. was seen to be less sticky. The particles of the makeup removal liq. were not found to be sticky in nature.
  7. Removable: The makeup removal liq. is spread on skin after some time skin allows to absorb it and it was seen to be easily washable or removable.
  8. Spreadability: The makeup removal liq. was spread by cotton wipes pads and smooth cloth and it easily spread.

RESULT AND DISCUSSION

  1. Organoleptic Characterization: After the complete formulation of herbal makeup removal liq.the results are obtained by evaluation tests are as follows: - Description: Liquid Color: Yellowish Odour: Pleasant
  2. PH Determination: The PH of toner was found to be 5.3-5.6 by using the PH meter.
  3. Skin Irritation: After applying the formulated makeup removal liq. on the dorsal of hand was found to be non- irritant to the skin.
  4. Skin Conditioning: The makeup removal liq. applied on skin and was seen to be the skin was moisturised.
  5. Stickiness: The makeup removal liq. is not much sticky while applying and removing from the skin.
  6. Temperature Variation: The formulated makeup removal liq.  is stable at the room temperature and low temperature.
  7. Removable: The makeup removal liq. can is easily washable and removable from skin after applying.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

The herbal makeup removal wipes aimed to create a natural, effective, and gentle makeup removal solution using blend of herbal ingredients. Through research and experimentation, we successfully developed a formulation that harnesses the power of rose water, turmeric, honey, coconut oil, jasmine oil, and aloe vera gel to remove makeup while nourishing and soothing the skin. The formulation and evaluation of herbal makeup removal wipes involve using natural ingredients such as coconut oil, rose water, honey, aloe vera gel to create a safe, ecofriendly alternative to conventional makeup removal liq. Natural ingredients: herbal makeup removal liq. contains various extracts, essentials which are gentle on the skin and free from synthetic chemicals. Non-toxic and safe: They are free from harmful chemicals, artificial colorants, reduce the risk of allergic reactions, skin irritation or long – term health effects. Nourishment and hydration: herbal makeup removal liq. contains moisturizing ingredients such as rose water, coconut oil which help to keep skin soft, hydrated and prevent dryness of skin. Eco – friendly: Since herbal makeup removal liq. are often made with natural ingredients, they are considered more environmental friendly compared to makeup removal liq. containing synthetic chemical. Rich in anti – oxidant: Ingredients such as turmeric give anti – oxidant property, which helps in prevention of damage of skin from such pollution and UV exposure. Overall , herbal makeup removal liq. combine beauty with wellness , offering a safer , more sustainable alternative to traditional skin cosmetic.
